Gwen Skeen is a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies from Weber State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University. She delights in helping humans across the lifespan discover they are not “broken” and to find their own individual path of healing.

Throughout her career in social work, Gwen has taught parenting and healthy relationship classes, advocated for children in the reunification process, and worked with women fighting addiction. She believes if there is magic in the world it is found in the relationship between a child and a parent. Her passion and focus is on how trauma affects relationships including the one we have with ourselves. Gwen is EMDR and Theraplay Level 1 trained. She draws from and utilizes the therapy modalities of strength based, client-centered, play, sand tray, art, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to assist clients in moving towards their goals.

Gwen’s greatest accomplishment and joy is in her 30+ years of marriage to her best friend and in the raising of their four beautiful and talented children. She enjoys spending time with her adorable grandson and a cuddly puppy named Dr. Watson. She not only recognizes and teaches the value of self-compassion and self-care, but tries to model that in her life by napping, enjoying nature, reading, watching movies, supporting live theater, and laughing as much as possible.
